Patrick Modiano, born July 30, 1945, is the recipient of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Literature "For the art of memory with which he has evoked the most ungraspable human destinies and uncovered the life-world of the occupation.” According to the New York Times, "Mr. Modiano, who has published around 30 works...first rose to prominence in 1968 with his novel 'La Place de l’Étoile.' He won the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 1978 for his novel 'Missing Person.'
